Grace & Stanley
A picture book like The Gift of the Magi, but with a girl and a squirrel
Currently being submitted
Grace and Stanley are both avid collectors. Suddenly, they are each in desperate need of what the other collects. Swapping becomes a little complicated because Grace is a little girl, and Stanley is a squirrel who lives in her yard. Can they work it out in time?
Grace and Stanley, a 664-word picture book, will appeal to children ages 3-7, who will enjoy the backyard back and forth, and relate to the fear of compromise regardless of the higher goal.

I’m particularly experienced to write this story because I am the mother of an avid collector whose prize acorn creations, hopelessly covered in mold, might possibly have been discarded in the dark of night. This book is my amends for that.
